A six-day global spiritual conclave will get under way at Santhigiri Ashram on August 22 in connection with the 90th birth anniversary of its founder Karunakara Guru. Thinkers, spiritualists, scientists, and doctors from within the country and outside will attend the conclave, being held under the aegis of the Santhigiri Research Foundation. Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Sudarshan Bhagat will inaugurate the meet on August 24.
A seminar on ‘Sanathana Dharmam and Karunakara Guru’s philosophy’ will be held in connection with the conclave. The seminar will be inaugurated by Mark Juergensmeyer, Professor of Global Studies and Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
The conclave will discuss the role of Dharma in Indian culture, the philosophy and perspectives of various religions on Dharma, Karunakara Guru’s perpectives on Dharma and so on.
