Girls bag top ranks in BA in Thiruvananthapuram

Girl students bagged most of the top ranks in the BA annual scheme examinations of the University of Kerala the results of which were declared here on Friday.

Of the 11,005 students who wrote the examinations, 1,222 secured a first class. The pass percentage is 51.03. Last year, it was 47.71, a press note issued by the university here said.

The results can be accessed on the website www.keralauniversity.ac.in While all students who wrote the BA Tamil, Sanskrit Vyakarana, and Sanskrit Special Jyothisha examinations passed, the lowest pass percentage, 42, was for the BA English examinations.

The name of the first rank holders, their subjects, and their colleges are given below:

English Language and Literature: N. Noumi (All Saints’ College, Thiruvananthapuram)

Philosophy: X. Pradeep (SD College, Alappuzha)

Psychology: A. Sarika (Government College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram)

History: N. Naziya (St. Joseph’s College, Alappuzha)

Islamic History: A. Jubairiyath Beevi (TKM Arts and Science College, Kollam)

Economics: R.P. Greeshma (SN College for Women, Kollam)

Political Science: Shiney Thomas (St. John’s College, Anchal)

Sociology: S. Maria Jebin (St. Xavier’s College, Thumba)

Arabic: S. Shemeer (University College, Thiruvananthapuram)

Hindi: B. Anupama (NSS College for Women, Neeramankara)

Malayalam: S.N. Upasana (NSS College, Pandalam)

Sanskrit General: N.S. Reshma (University College, Thiruvananthapuram)

Sanskrit Special ‘A’ Nyaya: H. Sreejith (Government Sanskrit College, Thiruvananthapuram)
