A photo exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi and sale of ‘swadeshi’ products, organised by the Information and Public Relations Department, is under way at VJT Hall. The event is being organised to commemorate Gandhi’s 146{+t}{+h}birth anniversary and 100 years of his return from South Africa.
Many school and college students came to the venue to see the 100-odd photos depicting the milestones of Indian Independence movement. The momentous phases in Gandhiji’s life are highlighted at the presentation. These include his childhood, his initial days of activism in South Africa, his return to India to spearhead freedom movement, and his last days.
Twenty-six stalls have been set up for selling ‘swadeshi’ products. The products for sale include Ayurveda, Brahmi products, pickles, sweets, herbal medicines, handicrafts and ornaments. The exhibition and sale will come to a close on October 7.
