Free diabetes programme

A free diabetes detection and treatment programme, organised by the SP Fort Hospital here on World Diabetes Day, was inaugurated by Health Minister V.S. Sivakumar on Monday.

The minister also flagged off a ‘Diabetic Walk’, after which laboratory tests, Vascular Doppler testing, an awareness class, dental examinations, and yoga class followed. About 300 people availed themselves of the free offer, hospital authorities said in a press release. The hospital’s managing director P. Ashokan, diabetologist Suresh Kumar, managing partners Murugan, Subrahmani, Guru Ratna Swami and others, were present.
