The Pettah police have arrested a man on the charge of abetting a father-daughter duo to swindle over ₹1 crore from several people.
The accused was identified as Vipin, 31, of Karivilanchi, near Peyad.
Ramesh Kumar of Pettah and his daughter Lakshmi had been arrested a few days ago on the charge of borrowing money from various persons by making them believe that they needed the money for getting income tax clearance to withdraw ₹600 crore deposited in Ramesh’s bank account.
