Four more diarrhoea cases in Thiruvanathapuram

Four more cases of diarrhoea were reported from Puthiyathura area on Friday, where intensive preventive action against water-borne diseases are being carried out by the health authorities.

Till now, 28 cases of diarrhoea and three confirmed cases of cholera has been reported from the region. On Friday, health field workers completed a second round of super chlorination of all wells in the locality.

Water supply in tanker lorries are being continued in the area. A team of doctors from the Community Medicine department at Medical College is also doing field studies in the locality. Health field workers said they were focussing on creating awareness among mothers in the area on maintaining high levels of hygiene so that children were not affected by diarrhoea.
