Fisherman killed by lightning

A fisherman was struck dead by lightning while fishing in the deep sea off Pulluvila late Thursday. The police said Raju, 37, of Pulluvila had gone fishing along with others and was about to return to shore when he was struck by lightning. He died on the spot.

Burglary: three held

The Nemom police have arrested three persons who broke into a house at Nemom on Monday and decamped with jewellery, cash, and other valuables. The accused, identified as Reji George, Pradeep, alias Bulb Kannan, and Ajith Lal, alias Lalu, were allegedly part of a six-member gang of burglars.

Found hanging

The body of a migrant labourer was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his rented accommodation on Thursday. The Medical College police said Manoj, 23, of West Bengal consumed alcohol along with his room-mates till late Wednesday.
