It seems techies have a passion for film-making despite their busy schedules. As many as 12 entries have been confirmed for participation at ‘Qisa,’ the first-ever film festival to be organised at Technopark to showcase films directed by the techies.
Registration for the event was opened last week. The festival is organised by Prathidhwani, a cultural organisation at Technopark. The film festival, slated for September 15, at the Park Centre, intends to provide a platform for film-makers and film enthusiasts to explore short cinema. The entry is restricted to short films/documentaries (not longer than 30 minutes) shot after August 1, 2010, and directed by an employee/employees of any company at Technopark. The last date for submitting entries is August 31. “Before switching to the IT field, many employees here have worked in the film field. Hence the idea came up to bring them together and showcase their works,” Rajeev Krishnan, secretary of Prathidhwani, told The Hindu .
The movies will be reviewed by a judging panel headed by film critic M.F. Thomas.
