Female film fete in Thiruvananthapuram

The third Female Film Festival, organised by the Kerala Centre for Women’s Studies, will begin at the University Students’ Centre from September 27 and will continue till September 30.

Sixteen films will be screened in the World and Indian Cinema categories, apart from a number of short films and documentaries. The inauguration of the event will be at the Gandhi Park at 5 p.m. on September 27, to be done jointly by Thiruvananthapuram Mayor K. Chandrika; actors KPAC Lalitha, Vijayakumari, and Nilambur Ayisha; Nangyar Koothu exponent Margi Sathi; and veteran Left activist and singer P.K. Medini. Discussions on ‘Women and Creative Expression’ will be held at 5 p.m. on September 28 and 29 at the Gandhi Park. The event is being organised in association with the Kerala University Union, Vanitha Sahithi, Federation of Film Societies of India, and the Kerala State Chalachithra Academy. The entry fee for students is Rs.50 while for others, it will be Rs.200. For details, contact Ph: 94955-95666, a press release said.
