Exemption for bed-ridden patients

April 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has directed District Collectors to discourage the public from bringing bed-ridden persons to the venues of the Janasambarka (mass contact) programmes in various districts.

An official press note quoting him said the government would provide assistance for such persons based on a report by a medical team deputed to visit their houses. It said the direction was issued to avoid the inconvenience caused to the ailing persons.

Bed-ridden patients can register their names on the day of the programme itself, Mr. Chandy said.

In a videoconference with Collectors, Mr.Chandy urged them to prioritise public issues. Not a single petition should be ignored, he told them.
