The Excise Department will be alert during the weeks leading to Onam festival in enforcing liquor rules, Excise Minister K. Babu has said.
At a press conference here after a review of the arrangements being made for this purpose on Tuesday, he said officials down to the level of inspectors in the department had been given mobile phone connection now.
Any person could contact them any time to pass on information that would help strengthen enforcement of the liquor rules, the Minister said.
