The Expert Appraisal Committee of the Ministry recommended grant of clearance, which was communicated to the Technopark authorities on Monday.
The committee had seen a presentation of the project proposal by a team led by K.V. Rajendran, General Manager, Technopark.
A press note here on Monday quoted Ajay Kumar, IT Secretary and Chairman of Technopark, as saying that the first IT building on this campus — with a built-up area of 10 lakh sq.ft — is scheduled to commence operations by the second half of 2011. Its architecture would incorporate ‘green building' concepts.
Technopark has already commissioned a 110-kV substation to supply power to the new campus and to the adjacent Phase-2 campus where the offices of Infosys and UST Global will be located.
Arrangements are being made to store and dispose of electronic waste.
