Action against flat complex for letting out waste water into public drain

Action has been initiated against a flat complex and against various eateries for flouting rules regarding hygiene.

According to a statement from the city Corporation, the control room got a tip-off last night that waste water was being let out into a public drain by Beacon Green Lilly flat complex, Tirumala, following which a night squad of the Corporation inspected the area.

It was found that the public drain was clogged due to the flow of waste water from the complex. Action has been initiated against the flat owners.

Stale meat, oil

Raids were held in the city on various hotels and eateries on Wednesday. Stale pork, chicken, fish curry, and oil were seized from a roadside eatery owned by one Radhakrishnan near Bakery Junction. Stale food was seized from Kepco Hotel and Rathan Pereira Hotel, Pettah. Inspections were conducted at Ammachi Hotel, Pettah.

Inspections were also conducted at Aryas Hotel and Triveni Hotel at Bakery Junction, Hotel Bajeen at Kadakapampally, and at Achu mini restaurant and Amma Hotel under the Sasthamangalam circle, and Prime Restaurant under the Secretariat circle.

Fines imposed

Fines were slapped on and action initiated against hotels found flouting rules. Inspections would continue, the statement said.
