Talks between doctors in the Health Service, represented by the Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association, and the Health Secretary on Friday to resolve the issues that led to a two-day strike by doctors, did not make any headway.
The KGMOA demanded that the doctors against whom the government had taken action be reinstated, which was rejected by the Health Secretary, who said the doctors should stop their strike first and appeal against the government decision.
The KGMOA has ended its two-day strike, which had led to disruption of all hospital services in the district, but has decided to launch an indefinite non-cooperation stir from Saturday in the district.
Though doctors will attend to patient care, they will boycott all other work. Doctors will continue to strike work at the Neyyattinkara hospital, the KGMOA said.
