District Court bicentenary procession

Minister for Transport V.S. Sivakumar will flag off a procession at the Gandhi Park at 3.30 p.m. on Monday to herald the 200th anniversary celebrations of the District Court and Thiruvananthapuram Bar Association.

Lawyers, clerks, employees of the court, literary and social personalities, students, and representatives of various political parties are expected to participate in the procession, the organising committee of the bicentennial celebrations said in a press note here.

Mounted police, bands, and folk art performers will lend colour to the event.

The procession will move along MG Road through Ayurveda College, Statue, General Hospital and Vanchiyoor before culminating at the District Court.

District Judge B. Sudheendrakumar will hoist a ceremonial flag to mark the inauguration of the celebrations.
