Sree cinema was witness to protests and sloganeering just before the screening of a film on Tuesday, after the delegates who were not able to get in jumped on stage with placards and demanded that the organisers evacuate the cinema hall after each show.

A huge crowd had gathered for the screening of Mohsen Makhmalbaf’s President right in the morning for the 11.30 a.m. show, but even as the queue winded outside the gates of the complex, the cinema was filled with delegates, right till the door. It so happened that many who had watched the morning show decided to stay back for the noon show. Hence, only a few who stood in the front of the queue could be allowed in. This angered those who had braved the sun and stood for more than an hour. A few, who managed to get in, went up on the stage protesting against the organisers and those who had refused to leave after the morning show. When the film got off to a delayed start, the protesters sat by the side of the stage and watched the film.
