CPI(M) State meet: cultural fete from February 1

The cultural festival in connection with the CPI(M) State conference will begin on February 1 in the city.

‘Prathibha Vandanam,' drama, elocution, and film festivals will be organised as part of the function. Various seminars, an international book fair, and exhibition of paintings and poems will be held at four different venues — VJT Hall, Putharikandam Maidan, Nayanar Park, and Gandhi Park — in the city. Various seminars will be held as part of the conference.

‘Prathibha Vandanam'

On February 1, ‘Prathibha Vandanam' will be held at the VJT Hall at 4 p.m. This will be followed by the staging of drama ‘Paattabaki.'

Film director Lenin Rajendran will inaugurate the cultural festival at Putharikandam Maidan. Cultural performance by Margi Krishnadas and group, and programmes by students from various colleges in the city will follow.

Besides plays, award-winning films such as Olga , Last Emperor , and Neythukaran will be screened at the Putharikandam Maidan from February 1.
