CPI(M) protest peaceful

October 19, 2013 03:19 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 12:15 pm IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) protest at the Chief Minister’s mass contact programme venue on Friday was peaceful.

The police blocked the protesters at several points, including on the road in front of the Press Club.

They shifted two legislators, V. Sivankutty and Koliyakode Krishnan Nair, to hospital after they complained of illness.

The protesters, who shouted slogans for over an hour, courted arrest peacefully at the instance of their leaders. A. Sampath and T.N. Seema, MPs, criticised the police for not allowing them into the venue, despite having been invited to the function by the Chief Minister himself.
