Councillor flays Mayor

January 09, 2012 05:10 pm | Updated July 25, 2016 07:58 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Johnson Joseph, United Democratic Front councillor, has demanded the resignation of Mayor K. Chandrika over the garbage disposal crisis in the city, which has been unsolved for more than a fortnight.

In a statement released here, Mr. Joseph said that it was the inefficiency of the Mayor and the Corporation administration that had led to the worsening of the issue.

The councillor said the Mayor had no right to accuse the State government over the issue as it was the former Corporation council led by the Left Democratic Front that led the city to such a crisis by grossly mismanaging the garbage treatment plant at Vilappilsala.
