The Nilackal diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church organised a Mar Thoma commemoration procession (Smriti Yatra) to the St. Thomas Ecumenical Church at Nilackal on Thursday.

The procession began after prayers at the Mar Thoma Catholicate Centre at Angamoozhi in the forenoon. Mathews Mar Theodoseus, Metropolitan of the Idukki diocese of the Church, was the chief celebrant of the holy Eucharist held at the Catholicate Centre chapel.

The Metropolitan of the Nilackal diocese Joshua Mar Nicodimos flagged of the procession.

Delivering the benedictory speech, Mar Theodoseus said Nilackal was blessed with the footprints of St. Thomas. A large number of believers attached to various parishes under the Nilackal diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church took part in the procession. Fr. Shyju Kurien, secretary of the diocese; Fr. Joji Mathew, Fr. Aby Varghese, and Abraham Philip, led the procession.
