Art scholar Sadanand Menon and literary scholar Sunil P. Elayidom are to deliver two back-to-back lectures as part of the Chinta Ravi commemoration here on Saturday.
Mr. Menon will speak on ‘Culture in the time of Maggi noodles and Patanjali’ and Sunil P. Elayidom, on ‘Tradition and secular democracy’ at the event being held the Press Club at 3.30 p.m. The event, to be chaired by Sashi Kumar, chairman, Asian College of Journalism, will also feature release of the second edition of Chinta Ravi’s Ravindrante Yathrakal , published by DC Books. Writer Paul Zacharia will make the introductory remarks and literary scholar B. Rajeevan will present a personal recollection of Chinta Ravi’s life and work.
Film critic C.S. Venkiteswaran will remember filmmaker K.R. Mohanan, who passed away on June 25, at the function that will also have a Hindustani musical tribute to the filmmaker by Sanitha.
