Children’s literature awards

Minister for Culture A.K. Balan will give away the children’s literature awards instituted by the Kerala State Institute of Children’s Literature on March 9. The Pala K.M. Mathew award instituted in the name of the former director of the institute will be presented to Kiliroor Radhakrishnan for his work Kathakaliloode Ayyankali . The awards carries a purse of Rs.60,001, certificate, and citation.

The other awards go to: poetry – Adinad Gopi; novel – Thekkinkad Joseph; science- S. Santhi; autobiography – P.K. Gopi; drama – K.V. Ganesh; illustrations - Gopidas; picture book – K.P. Muraleedharan; production – Kerala State Institute of Children’s Literature; scholarly work – Sanal P. Thomas; and adaptation - John Samuel. The awards comprise a cash prize of Rs.10,000, certificate, and citation, a statement here said.
