Justice Mohan M. Shantanagoudar on Thursday assumed charge as the 32nd Chief Justice of Kerala High Court. At a simple ceremony held in the Raj Bhavan here, Governor, P. Sathasivam administered the oath of office to the new Chief Justice. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was present on the occasion. Chief Secretary S. M. Vijayanand read out the warrant of President Pranab Kumar Mukherjee appointing the new Chief Justice of the State and sought permission to present the Chief Justice designate. Mr. Mallikarjunagoudar succeeds Chief Justice Ashok Bhushan who has been elevated to the Supreme Court. The new Chief Justice was a judge of the Karnataka High Court before being transferred to Kerala High Court recently. — Special Correspondent
