Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Monday dismissed as baseless Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan’s allegation that the government had attempted to save Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan from prosecution in the micro-finance financial ‘fraud’ case.

Mr. Chennithala said that only the UDF government had displayed the courage to bring to book Mr. Natesan for various infringements of the law.

The Vigilance inquiry against Mr. Natesan was on and he would receive a report when completed, he said in a statement.
