Chennai express to have additional stops

Railways have decided reroute train 22207/22208 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram biweekly superfast A/C express through Coimbatore with additional stops at Salem, Coimbatore, Palakkad and Thrissur. The days of service of the trains have also been changed.

At present, 22207 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram biweekly superfast AC Express leaves Chennai Central at 4.30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays and reaches Thiruvananthapuram at 5.45 a.m. the next day with stoppages at Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Kollam. In the opposite direction, 22208 Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central biweekly superfast AC express leaves Thiruvananthapuram at 9.30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays and reaches Chennai Central at 10.35 a.m. the next day with stoppages at Kollam, Alappuzha and Ernakulam.

The days of service of 22208 Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central biweekly superfast AC express will stand changed from Saturday to Sunday. Train 22208 Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central express leaving Thiruvananthapuram on April 20 will be the first service to run via Coimbatore with additional stoppages.

In the reverse direction, 22207 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram express leaving Chennai Central on April 22 will be the first service to run via Coimbatore with additional stoppages. Train 22208 Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central express will leave Thiruvananthapuram on Sundays with effect from April 24.There will be no service of 22208 from Thiruvananthapuram on Saturdays with effect from April 23, a Southern Railway release said.
