The United Democratic Front (UDF) government headed by Oommen Chandy has no moral right to continue in office in the wake of observations made by Governor P. Sathasivam and should resign immediately, Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan has said.

The Governor’s observation was a strong warning against the corruption being indulged in by the government, Mr. Achuthanandan said in a statement here on Saturday.

The observation that the happenings in the Assembly justified the submission of a report to the President of India under Article 356 of the Constitution was a big blow to the UDF government, he said.

The State government was fully responsible for all the happenings in the Assembly on March 13, he said.
