Chandy flays CPI(M) for politics of violence

April 24, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has taken on the CPI(M) leadership for its politics of violence, wondering how the party that had committed so many gruesome political murders could ensure peaceful life for citizens if voted to power.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Mr.Chandy said CPI(M) leaders including P.Jayarajan, T.V.Rajesh, Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrasekharan were being investigated for their alleged involvement in the killing of political opponents.

Murder

Citing the murder of Ariyil Shukoor, T.P.Chandrasekharan, Fazal, Kathiroor Manoj and Payyoli Manoj, he said the CPI(M) had challenged the rule of law by carrying out the operations. The brazen incidents had shocked the whole State, he said.

Raise doubts

How can the people be blamed if they raise doubts about the CPI(M)’s commitment to ensuring peaceful life in the State, he asked.
