Case against councillors

The Museum police on Saturday registered a case against Palkulangara councillor P. Ashok Kumar and Jagathy councillor Sheeja Madhu on the basis of a complaint filed by a woman overseer of the civic body.

Offences including criminal intimidation and assault of woman have been levelled against them.

According to the complainant, the councillors had demanded that she sign the papers allowing Rs.30,000 to be disbursed for maintenance work without conducting an inspection of the site first. She said she had refused to heed them.
