Although not many may be aware of it, the State capital owes much to the former Minister K. Pankajakshan.

Mr. Pankajakshan, who was the Minister in charge of Public Works and Labour in different governments, had played a key role in the development of several key junctions and roads in the State capital.

Prominent among them were the development of the Thampanoor overbridge and junction, the Kesavadasapuram junction, and the Valiyasala-Aryasala-Chenthitta roads.

He had also played a significant part in initiating work on the Kovalam-Kazhakuttom bypass and in completing the construction of Vikas Bhavan that houses several government offices now.
