Cancer awareness cell

A cancer awareness cell for the screening of cervical cancer and breast cancer in women was inaugurated on Friday by Nandita Mukerjee, president of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA), Southern Air Command, at the Station Medicare Centre.

Air Commodore A.K. Gupta, Principal Medical Officer of Southern Air Command, emphasised the importance of regular checks by women for early detection and treatment of such cancers. The awareness cell will provide comprehensive information and training for self examination besides conducting tests for early detection.
