The Cabinet on Wednesday formed a subcommittee to discuss the issues over Vilppilsala garbage treatment plant with the Vilappilsala panchayat.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that Minister for Panchayats, Minister for Urban Affairs and Minister for Health would be members of the committee. They would hold discussions with the panchayat and decide on the further action.

The Supreme Court had rejected an appeal of the panchayat over reopening of the plant run by Thiruvananthapuram Corporation in the panchayat.
