Bypass work launched

The construction of the Sarkara-Manjadimoodu bypass was launched by Chirayinkeezhu MLA, V. Sasi, on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sasi said the project that was being undertaken at a cost of Rs.6.5 crore would be completed within three months. The bypass was expected to ease the flow of traffic in Chirayinkeezhu. It would provide motorists with an alternative route to the Chirayankeezhu-Kaniyapuram road which normally witnessed regular traffic snarls owing to the presence of two railway gates. Chirayankeezhu block panchayat president R. Subash presided. Anathalavattom Anandan, former MLA, Chirayankeezhu grama panchayat president S. Beena, and district panchayat vice president Shylaja Beegum spoke.
