BSNL launchesWiMax services

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Kerala circle, has launched WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), the 4th generation wireless broadband (IEEE 802.16e) services, in 450 locations in the State, covering all important district headquarters, important cities, and towns with roaming facility.

An official press note said here on Friday that WiMax offered high speed wireless broadband of the order of 10 to 15 Mbps data throughput per cell.

Customers were offered unlimited usage of broadband, up to 2 Mbps using WiMax customer premises equipment for Rs.750 a month. Other limited plans with same band width were also on offer. More details on the tariff could be obtained from www.keralatelecom.com.
