Body of youth recovered from river

The police have recovered the body of a youth who was allegedly murdered by a gang for not heeding to their demand for money. The body of Vishnu alias Pallan Vishnu, a resident of Chiramukku near Iranimuttom, was recovered from Killi River near Karamana on Tuesday.

According to the police, the deceased had gone missing from Monday night while trying to escape an armed assault by a gang. On the night of the incident, Vishnu was having a party along with his friends near the river side when a gang approached them for money. An argument broke out between the groups which led to an altercation. While trying to escape from the scene, Vishnu got separated from his friends, Prakash and Akhil.

The police identified two of the accused as Chathan Sajeev and Punchiri Manoj, small-time criminals.
