BJP State president V. Muraleedharan has called on Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to step down and face the investigation into the alleged links between his personal staff members and a woman accused of financial deception. A pressnote quoting Mr. Muraleedharan said recent incidents had exposed the murky role of Mr. Chandy’s staff members and a Union Minister in the business deals by the woman named Saritha Nair.

He said it was difficult to believe that the Chief Minister was ignorant of the activities of his men and their efforts to help the woman charged with financial fraud. “Mr. Oommen Chandy cannot evade responsibility for the actions of his staff members. Any investigation with him in the chair will lack credibility. He will have to step down and face the probe,” he said.
