Bennet, Rajagopal file nominations in Thiruvananthapuram

Several facilities have been arranged for people to check whether their names are included in the voters’ list.

Filing of nomination papers for the 2014-Lok Sabha polls at the Thiruvananthapuram and Attingal constituencies picked up on Thursday with 11 more candidates, including LDF candidate Bennet P. Abraham and BJP nominee O. Rajagopal submitting their papers before District Collector Biju Prabhakar, who is also the District Election Officer. The 11 candidates include dummies of political parties.

Others who filed their nominations from Thiruvananthapuram are O.V. Sreejith (Socialist Republican Party), Kunnil Shahjahan (Social Democratic Party of India), J. Sudhakaran (Bahujan Samaj Party), Radhakrishnan (Bahujan Samaj Party), V.S. Jayakumar (Independent), and Jyothinthra Nath (Independent).

Priya Sunil (Welfare Party of India), M.K. Manoj Kumar (Social Democratic Party of India), and Shahjahan (Social Democratic Party of India) filed nominations for the Attingal constituency.

Voters’ list

Several facilities have been arranged in the district for people to check whether their names are included in the voters’ list. Touch screens have been put up at the Thiruvananthapuram, Neyyattinkara, Nedumangad, and Chirayinkeezh taluk offices and the Collectorate.

Voters can check the details of their respective polling booth and booth numbers there or on the website www.ceo.kerala.gov.in.

The details may also be secured by sending an SMS to 54242 in the format, elec <space> id number. Alternatively, voters may call the toll-free numbers 18004256866 and 1950.
