Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan handed over keys of 104 houses to the beneficiaries of the EMS Housing Scheme at the Kuttichal panchayat here on Monday. Mr. Balakrishnan said the State government was implementing many schemes for the uplift of economically and socially backward families.
“Only by solving the problems faced by the poor can we ensure social justice in our society. The EMS Housing Scheme will benefit around five lakh families in the State, including 50,000 families in the district,” he said.

District panchayat president Anavoor Nagappan; vice-president B.P. Murali; Vellanad block panchayat president O. Sreekumari; and grama panchayat president Paruthipalli Chandran were present.
