The municipality of Attingal has been adjudged the best municipality in the State for the year 2011-2012. Malappuram and Kasaragod are the second and third best municipalities respectively.
While the first prize carried a cash award of Rs.25 lakh, the second carried Rs.15 lakh and the third, Rs.10 lakh, according to Urban Affairs Minister Manjalamkuzhi Ali.
