Jameela flays delay in action on complaint

April 04, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Janata Dal (Secular) legislator Jameela Prakasam has criticised the delay in registering not even a First Information Report (FIR) based on the complaints submitted by Opposition MLAs regarding the assault on them by the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF) members in the Assembly on March 13. In a statement here on Friday, Ms. Prakasam asked Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to introspect whether it was proper for an MLA belonging to his party to have abused her using a caste name.

She had given a complaint to the Speaker regarding to the attack with a ‘sexual’ intent that she had suffered in the House on the day. — Special Correspondent
