Mayor convenes meeting

City Corporation Mayor V.K. Prashanth has chaired a meeting to discuss the arrangements to be made for the rituals in connection with the Karkidaka Vavu Bali at the Thiruvallam Sree Parasurama Temple.

The health wing of the local body has been given the responsibility of cleaning up the temple premises and the area for bali offering as well as the drains on either sides of the road leading to the temple. A special squad has been given the responsibility of observing the green protocol for the ‘annadaanam.’ Two portably aerobins will be placed.

KSEB has been instructed to make operational all streetlights in the area. The irrigation wing has been asked to immediately clean up the four ‘bali kadavu’ in the area and to install nets to prevent the dumping of waste. The mud that has got deposited in the area will also be removed. Barricades will be installed in the temple area to control the crowd. Parking facilities and CCTVs will be arranged. Permission of the National Highway Authority of India has been sought for parking on the sides of the highway.

The Kerala Water Authority has been given instructions to make arrangements for water for drinking as well as for the devotees to clean up.
