Antony to lay foundation for Karunakaran centre

Construction of the centre will be completed in a time-bound manner.

Defence Minister A.K. Antony will lay the foundation stone of the K. Karunakaran Centre here on Monday.

According to a pressnote issued by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Thampanoor Ravi here on Friday, the Karunakaran Centre will have a convention hall with 1,500 seats, a research centre, a leadership training institute and a library with modern facilities.

The construction of the centre will be completed in a time-bound manner.

KPCC president and chairman of the Karunakaran Foundation Ramesh Chennithala will preside over the foundation laying programme. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, Speaker G. Karthikeyan, Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor, Ministers Adoor Prakash and V.S. Sivakumar, K. Muralidharan, MLA., and All India Congress Committee general secretary Mukul Wasnik will be present on the occasion.
