Ambedkar chair to be instituted

Rs. 6 cr. to build hostels for CUK students

The Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment would, in two months, sanction Rs.6 crore to the Central University of Kerala (CUK) to construct hostels to accommodate 200 students.

The Ministry would also facilitate the institution of an Ambedkar Chair in the university and would also help it open a centre in Kochi.

This was announced by Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot here on Tuesday.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Mahatma Ayyankali Centre for Kerala Studies of the university.
