All set for Vavu Bali today

All arrangements are in place at various locations in the district for the ceremonies associated with Vavu Bali on Saturday, Minister for Devaswom V.S. Sivakumar has said.

In a press release here on Friday, the Minister said that facilities for offering Bali had been readied at the Parasurama temple at Thiruvallam, Papanasam at Varkala, Aruvippuram, Aruvikkara, Shanghumughom, Thrikkannapuram, Karamana, and Chirakkara.

Around 400 police personnel, including 75 traffic policemen and 35 women constables, would be deployed at the centres where Bali would be offered.

The KSRTC would run special services to these centres. More than a 100 showers and toilets had been installed at various locations to facilitate people to bathe after offering Bali.

Round-the-clock availability of water would be ensured at these locations.

The city Corporation would lead the cleaning operations.

The Minister presided over a review meeting held at the Parasurama temple on Friday. V. Sivankutty, MLA, was among those who were present, the release said.
