Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal N.A.K. Browne arrived here on a two-day official visit.

A press note issued here said Air Chief Marshal Browne and his wife, Kiran Browne, president of the Air Force Wives’ Welfare Association (AFWWA) (central), were received by Air Marshal R.K. Jolly, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command (SAC), and Meenakshi Jolly, AFWWA president (regional), at the Air Force Station, Thiruvananthapuram. The Air Chief was given a guard of honour on arrival, the press note said.

Air Chief Marshal Browne addressed the Southern Air Command Commanders’ Conference on Thursday.

He briefed the Station Commanders of SAC on the security scenario of the peninsula. “The IAF is on a high growth path and is in the process of acquiring multi-spectral strategic capabilities,” the press note quoted him as saying.

He complimented the air warriors for the success of the recently conducted exercises, ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘Live Wire,’ the press note added. Ms. Browne will address a meeting of the Board of Management of AFWWA on Friday.
