Accused in several vehicle thefts arrested

A 30-year-old man, wanted for his alleged role in several vehicle theft cases, was arrested by the Medical College police on Wednesday.

K. Sajeev, Circle Inspector, Medical College police, said Anil Kumar, who hails from Bharathannoor, was involved in many cases relating to theft of vehicles parked on the Medical College premises, six years ago.

After securing bail following his arrest, the accused went into hiding. He was declared wanted by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court after he failed to be present at the court after being summoned.

The accused has been hiding in Pathanamthitta and Kottayam for a long while. He was nabbed by a team led by the Cyber City Assistant Commissioner Anil Kumar from a hideout.

The accused was produced in court and remanded in judicial custody.
