AAI officers' protest on

December 15, 2011 12:43 pm | Updated 12:43 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Officers of the erstwhile International Airports Authority of India (IAAI) who were transferred and posted to Airports Authority of India (AAI) and officers appointed in the AAI and posted to the erstwhile IAAI at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport are on a week-long protest demanding settlement of their issues.

Officers in the rank of assistant manager to general manager have been appearing for duty since Monday wearing black badges seeking an immediate solution to the pending issues.

A spokesman of the association said they would be forced to intensify the agitation with lunch-hour protests from next week as the AAI management was ignoring the protest.

The main demand of the protesters was to implement Inter-se-Seniority.

The association demanded restoration of the status and powers of the Airport Director, Thiruvananthapuram, and other officers which were allegedly taken away in 2007.
