Prakashan, joint director, higher secondary education, while inaugurating Maanavikam 2017, a special programme to mark the Humanities Day observance held as part of World Population Day, at the school.

Given the undue importance being attached to engineering and medicine courses, there has to be a conscious effort to take higher education to newer directions. Humanities was an important area of study in prestigious institutions such as IITs and the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
