39,003 from district eligible for higher studies

As many as 1,276 students from the Neyyattinkara, Attingal and Thiruvananthapuram educational districts have bagged A+ grade in all subjects in the SSLC examinations held in March, the results of which were announced on Wednesday.

Girls have outshined boys in securing A+ grade in all the three educational districts in the capital district. Of the 1,276 students who have bagged A+ grade in all subjects, 853 are girls.

Among the three educational districts, Attingal tops the list with 526 (187 boys and 339 girls). A total of 390 students (121 boys and 269 girls) in Thiruvananthapuram and 360 in Neyyattinkara (115 boys and 245 girls) have scored A+ in all subjects.

93.1% pass

Of the 41,895 students who appeared for the exams in the revenue district, 39,003 students have become eligible for higher studies and the pass percentage is 93.1. Of these, 19,187 are boys.

A total of 13,836 have become eligible for higher studies in Attingal educational district, 12,528 in Thiruvananthapuram and 12,639 in Neyyattinkara educational district.

All students who appeared for the examinations from Government VHSS for Deaf, Jagathy, have become eligible for higher studies. St. Mary’s HSS, Pattom, presented the highest number of—1,720—students for the SSLC exams in the State. Several schools from the district figure on the list of school that achieved 100 per cent pass. Secretary, General Education, James Joseph, Director of Public Instruction and Commissioner of Examinations P.I. Sheikh Parekh, Director Higher Secondary K.N. Satheesh and Secretary, Pareeksha Bhavan, Johnson V. John were present at a press conference in which the Education Minister announced the results.
