Former Chief Minister and Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC) chairman V.S. Achuthanandan has said that the report of the commission will have proposals to take the civil service closer to the people.

Inaugurating a ‘Quit Corruption’ campaign organised across the State by the Joint Council of Service Organisations here on Monday, Mr. Achuthanandan said a pro-people civil service was non-negotiable and should become a reality if the people were to benefit from the democratic process.

C. Divakaran, MLA, chaired the meeting. Gandhian P. Gopinathan Nair, CPI leader G.R. Anil, Joint Council general secretary S. Vijayakumaran Nair, NGO Association State president N. Ravikumar, and NGO Union State secretary K. Sundarraj, among others, spoke. Similar conventions were held in other districts.
