January 14, 2017 01:08 am | Updated 01:08 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The body of a man who jumped from the Veli bridge into the lake on Thursday night was found on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Madhu, 49, of Poonkulam, an employee at the Accountant General’s office.

The body was fished out from the lake by the police and the Fire and Rescue Services in the morning after search operations continued during the night, the Thumba police said.

An identity card that was found near the bridge on Thursday helped in the identification. His relatives also identified the body.

Madhu is suspected to have been depressed about his liver-related ailments.
